Black Friday shoplifting suspects arrested across western Massachusetts

The Holyoke Mall opened at 12:30 A.M. Friday

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Police have arrested several people who they say were shoplifting early Black Friday.

Holyoke Police Sgt. John Sevigne told 22News officers arrested five people at the Holyoke Mall for shoplifting. Sevigne said the arrests occurred from 3:00 A.M. to 5:30 A.M.

West Springfield Police Sgt. Adam Polastry said three people were arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s around 4:15 A.M.

Another shoplifting arrest happened at the Walmart in Westfield. Police Officer Zachary Demers told 22News they arrested one person for shoplifting at the store around 2:30 A.M

Black Friday began in Massachusetts just after midnight when many stores opened their doors to shoppers.
