4 year anniversary of gas explosion in Springfield

Seventeen people were hurt, luckily no one was killed.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – This gas leak had so many residents in the area worried, because on Black Friday four years ago, a gas leak, turned into a gas explosion in Springfield.

This gas explosion leveled parts of Worthington Street in Springfield on Black Friday in 2012. The boom could be heard for miles.

Seventeen people were hurt, luckily no one was killed.

The explosion caused more than $1.3 million dollars in damage to about twenty buildings.
