HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee High School defeated Holyoke High School 40 to 7 on the road in this year’s Thanksgiving Day matchup.
It is a historic game; marking the 100th game between the two high schools.
The rivalry match-up had fans and football players from decades past returning to town to cheer on their team.
“I played on 1969 and 1970, a long time ago. But it’s been a great rivalry that obviously goes back now 100 years,” Bill McCarthy of Holyoke said.
Fans told 22News that they hope the rivalry between the Pacers and the Purple Knights can continue for another 100 years.
