STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) – The day before Thanksgiving is typically the busiest travel day of the year, and judging by traffic delays on the Massachusetts Turnpike, today is no exception.

As of 3:00 P.M. travelers from western Massachusetts who are heading east have been dealing with slowdowns from Brimfield to Charlton, but otherwise traffic is moving fairly smoothly all the way to Boston.

Mass. State Police tweeted around 7:15 p.m. that traffic is flowing on Rt. 90 and there are no backups on ramps.

Other trouble spots in eastern and central Massachusetts include Route 128/I-95- both north and south of the Mass Pike, I-495 in the Marlborough and Lowell areas, and I-290 in Worcester.

Locally, drivers can expect typical traffic through the I-91 construction zone in downtown Springfield, and traffic on I-91 and I-84 in Hartford.
