Bright Nights opening Wednesday night for 22nd season

$6 admission Wednesday night to celebrate anniversary of lighting display

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The holiday season is upon us, and a sure sign of it is the opening of Bright Nights at Forest Park. More than 650,000 lights will shine to the delight of visitors starting Wednesday night.

The 22nd annual display will be celebrated with a ceremonial flipping of the switch at 5:00 P.M. Mayor Domenic Sarno, Hampden County Sheriff-elect Nick Cocchi, and Bright Nights supporters will be there for the celebration.

To celebrate the start of the new season, admission Wednesday night will be $6 per car; the rate from Bright Nights’ first season in 1995.
