HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Holyoke school is celebrating Puerto Rican culture.
Kelly School in Holyoke transformed their cafeteria into a festive and traditional Puerto Rican party Tuesday night.
Music, Puerto Rican food, dance performances, and artwork helped students and families connected to the culture.
“It is important because it is our culture and even though we are away from home and when other students come to our school they feel welcome,” said event organizer Norma Rodriguez.
Norma Rodriguez told 22News events like this help their students understand where they came from, and who they are.
