OSHA, Springfield police investigating death at insulation company

Identity of man killed is not being released at this time

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police, the state medical examiner, and investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are looking into the death of a man at an insulation company in the city’s Liberty Heights neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Mary Hoye, director for OSHA’s Springfield-area office, told 22News that they have been looking into a reported death at Urban & Sons Insulation at 385 Liberty Street.

Springfield Police Sgt. Mel Kwatowski, who is leading the investigation, told 22News that the victim was a 35 to 40 year-old man. He said that at this point, they are not releasing the nature of how he died. He also said that they are still in the process of notifying the man’s family.

He told 22News that the incident was reported to them at around 7:00 Tuesday morning.
