EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The town of East Longmeadow moved one step closer to selecting a new town manager.
The candidates have been narrowed down to three finalists. The first, current interim town manager, Denise Menard, who’s also a former First Selectwoman from a town in northern Connecticut.
The two other finalists, who couldn’t attend Tuesday night’s meeting, are Christopher Clark and Thomas Guerino. They are town administrators in Bourne and Harwich.
“Be beneficial for everyone in the town. They’ll finally have someone solid in a position of authority that they can go to, the departments head, so they can have a clear chain of command,” said East Longmeadow Town Council President Kevin Manley.
The town manager position was created July 1st, when East Longmeadow residents voted in favor of a new town charter.
Manley told 22News a decision will be made shortly after a second round of interviews November 30th and December 1st. Then the town will conduct a site visit to each finalists current office in December, where they’ll interview their colleagues and residents in the community.
