Many Dunkin’ Donuts donating turkey for the holidays

Patrons could purchase the “turkey donuts” for $1

(WTNH)  –  Thirteen Greater New Haven Dunkin’ Donuts are planning on donating more than 4,600 pounds of turkey to people in need this holiday season and patrons can help make this possible by purchasing a “turkey donut.”

The D’Andrea Group, a Guilford-based family business, is the franchisee for the thirteen Dunkin’ Donuts located in Milford, West Haven, Orange, Guilford, Clinton, Killingworth and Stratford.

Patrons can purchase the “turkey donuts” for $1 until November 19th or until the goal of 4,675 “turkey donuts” sold is reached.   Dunkin’ Donuts  will donate one turkey for each 12 “turkey donuts” sold.

The D’Andrea group plans on donating 140 turkeys to Clinton residents through the Shoreline Soup Kitchens, 50 turkeys to Orange residents through Orange Community Services, 100 turkeys to Milford residents through the Milford Boy Scouts, 100 turkeys to West Haven through St. Paul’s Food Pantry and the Connecticut Food Bank.  The remaining turkeys will be donated in Guilford and Killingworth based upon need.
