LEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Parts of western Massachusetts got their first real winter weather just in time for the holidays.
Between Sunday and Monday, parts of Berkshire County were blanketed by up to 20 inches of snow. 22News took the Mass Pike to Lee to check out the “snow situation.”
Road surfaces are clear, but the snow’s built up in snowbanks on the side of the roads. Snow-covered cars are driving slowly.
Lee residents were prepared for the season change.
“Been living up here all my life, so family breaks out the winter jackets we put on the snow tires and we are good to go and ready for the winter,” said Lee resident David Richard.
Richard said most people there don’t worry about this amount of snow. He said common sense has drivers taking extra precautions when the snow limits visibility.
