CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The New England Patriots face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11 of the 2016 NFL Regular Season. This is the first time quarterback Tom Brady plays in the Bay Area in his career.
Final Score: New England Patriots: (30), San Francisco 49ers: (17)
The Patriot and the 49ers are both coming off Week 10 losses. The Pats lost against the Seattle Seahawks, 31-24, on NBC Sunday Night Football, and the 49ers lost their 8th straight game against division rival Arizona Cardinals, 23-20.
This is the first time the Patriots play in Levi’s Stadium and the first time Brady plays in San Francisco. Brady grew up a 49ers fan and has waited about 17 seasons to play in the Bay Area. On Wednesday he said, “It will be a lot of fun. I’ve got a lot of people coming to the game and it will just be a great environment.”
The last time the two teams faced each other was at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on December 16, 2012. It was NBC Sunday Night Football and the 49ers beat the Patriots 41-34. However, the Pats look to bounce back this week and a victory against the 49ers would give them a 16th consecutive year with a record of .500 or better.
A victory will also put Brady closer to becoming the winningest quarterback in NFL history; he’s currently 3 wins away from the record, and passing Bret Favre and Peyton Manning.
