Belchertown families raise funds for local fire department

It's a tradition that started many years ago

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – Belchertown families take pride in their police and fire departments.

Belchertown families filled the fire station for a fund raising pancake breakfast. They’re helping the fire department pay for the latest in rescue equipment.

It’s a tradition that started many years ago. Folks are all too happy to help their fire department keep them safe.

Pamela Tarnawm of Belchertown told 22News, “It feels great. Belchertown has a great community and great fire department. It’s great to see the community come out here, and it’s great to see the firefighters.”

Sunday morning’s event was just the first of four fundraising pancake breakfasts helping the Belchertown fire department give its town the best protection.
