‘Water Emergency’ declared in the City of Westfield

Water service might be restored by Saturday night

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Residents in the City of Westfield have called 22News on Friday, complaining of low and no water pressure.

Westfield Department of Public Works Director David Billups told 22News it’s a combination of several issues. Earlier this week, 22News reported the Granville Reservoir was taken offline because of the extremely low water levels.

Billups said, on top of that, a water main break forced the shut-down of one of the city’s four water tanks, and two city eight wells are offline. He’s hopeful that water service can be restored by Saturday night.
