Suspect arrested in theft of winter coats from Marshall’s

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police say that a detective’s phone was “off the hook” with tips, following the posting of pictures showing a suspect in the theft of $500 worth of winter coats.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, 27 year-old Christopher Glidden of Chicopee has been arrested in connection to the October 8 theft from the Marshall’s on Boston Road.

Tuesday, Springfield police released surveillance images from the Boston Road store, and Delaney says that within half an hour, the investigating detective was receiving numerous calls identifying Glidden as the suspect.

A Holyoke police officer spotted Glidden in his city on Wednesday, and he was taken into custody.

Gildden is facing a single charge of larceny over $250.
