BOSTON (WWLP) – Campus, city, and state police descended upon the Boston University campus for a reported emergency situation Friday morning, which is now said to be a hoax.
Authorities at the university told people to avoid the college’s library on Commonwealth Avenue. State police had also blocked off the Boston University Bridge and Commonwealth Avenue in the area of the campus.
According to two tweets from the university’s official Twitter account, nothing dangerous was found, and the whole thing is now believed to have been a hoax. Commonwealth Avenue and surrounding roads have re-opened to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
