Driver hurt in rollover crash on Route 63 in Leverett

LEVERETT, Mass. (WWLP) – Police closed Route 63 after a driver was critically hurt in a single vehicle rollover crash in Leverett, Friday night.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. John Ruyffelaert, who’s attached to the Northampton State Police barracks, told 22News that the sole occupant of the vehicle was rushed to Baystate medical center in Springfield; “His injuries were serious.”

The vehicle rolled over and came to rest against a guard rail a few minutes after 5:30 p.m. Friday. Route 63 was closed between Montague Road and Depot Road for several hours.

Sgt Ruyffelaert said the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit was called in to investigate the crash. No word yet on what caused the crash or the condition of the driver.
