The MBA honors WWLP-22News with 6 awards

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Wednesday evening, November 16, WWLP-22News was honored with six awards at the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Sound Bites 2016 including the Merit Award for Station of the Year. The station received more honors than any other broadcast operation in the western part of the state.

WWLP-22News received a first place award in the Sports Feature category for the 22News I-Team report on “UMass Drug Testing.” Additionally, the station received merit awards for Station Promotional Announcement “22News Now More Than Ever,” Air Personality Jennifer Pagliei, Spot News Story “GySgt Sullivan Death,” and Feature Story “Snakes at the Quabbin.”

WWLP-22News President and General Manager Bill Pepin said, “These awards are judged by broadcasters from other states. It is a very high honor to know the station’s efforts are recognized by people in our business.”
