It's typically the busiest day of the year for online shopping

Holiday Shopping Online vs Stores

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – People across the country and here in Greenfield are already planning strategies to get their holiday shopping done.

The National Retail Federation predicts holiday sales will increase 4% from November to December. This will especially be the case on Cyber Monday, November 28th, three days after Black Friday.

It’s typically the busiest day of the year for online shopping, but not all shoppers want to participate in this trend.

Jazmin Ramirez-Caraballo of Turners Falls said, “Personally I don’t like to shop online. I’d rather go to the stores and buy my things by hand.”

Priscilla LaLonde of Greenfield said, “I did it once and it was unbelievable so usually I try to get it all done by the first of December.”

Amazon, Target, and other major retailers already have their Cyber Monday sales posted. About 17% of holiday spending is done online. Online shopping sales over the holidays is expected to increase as much as 19%, to $81 billion.
