Nothing found after bomb threat reported at Westfied-Barnes Regional Airport

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Massachusetts State Police have cleared the Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport, Thursday night, after they investigated a bomb threat report.

Westfield Police Lt. Jay Pitoniak told 22News the threat was called in late Thursday afternoon. A State Police Bomb Squad handler and dog were used to search the building and nothing suspicious was found.

In addition to state and local police, Lt. Pitoniak said a crew from the 104th Fighter Wing was also there. The airport is located near the Barnes Air National Air Base.
