HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – More than 50 high school volleyball players from western Massachusetts were selected to play in this year’s Spalding All-Star Game.
The 56 players come from 25 different high schools around western Massachusetts. The International Volleyball Hall of Fame announced the players Tuesday.
The event is scheduled to he held at West Springfield High School on November 21.
“It’s important we take time to recognize the wealth of volleyball talent right here in Western Massachusetts, the sports birthplace.” said IVHF Executive Director George Mulry. “Year after year, it gets increasingly difficult for the committee to select such a limited number of players for 1st and 2nd team honors when there are so many deserving athletes in our area.”
The players were selected by a committee of local coaches, officials and media members.
