22News won the 2016 Station of the Year Merit Award

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – We are happy to announce that the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Wednesday night honored 22News with the 2016 Station of the Year Merit Award.

The awards were given out during the MBA’s annual “Sound Bites” event at the Sheraton in Framingham.

In addition to the Station of the Year Merit award, 22News won a Feature Story Television Award for our coverage on the snakes at the Quabbin Reservoir, Spot News Story Television Award for our coverage on GySgt. Thomas Sullivan, and Station Promotion Announcement Television Award. 22News also won Best Sports Feature for 22News I-Team reporter Ryan Walsh’s coverage of drug testing among UMass athletes.

We also want to congratulate 22News Meteorologist Jennifer Pagliei, who won the 2016 On-Air Personality Merit Award.

The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association is an industry trade group that advocates on behalf of television and radio broadcasters throughout the state.
