Trump appointments shaking up Washington

(NBC News) Vice President-elect Mike Pence was in New York Tuesday, heading the Trump transition team as the group works to fill a new cabinet.

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani are currently the top contenders for Secretary of State.

Giuliani has said he’s considering State, but won’t serve as Attorney General.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Paul Ryan, Who fretted for a year that Trump’s not conservative, vowed quick action on the Trump agenda.

“We’re on the same page as our president-elect,” Ryan said. “I talk with Donald Trump virtually every single day.”

Ryan was re-nominated speaker by a unanimous vote of House Republicans, a dramatic show of unity by a party that many thought one week ago had been divided and damaged by Donald Trump’s campaign.
