Bomb threat was investigated at the Springfield courthouse

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield fire and police went to the courthouse on State Street, late Tuesday afternoon, after a bomb threat was reported.

According to the Springfield Fire Twitter page, the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad investigated the bomb threat at 80 State Street, which is the Hampden County Juvenile Court.

When 22News arrived on State Street around 4:00 p.m., a fire truck and police cruisers were blocking the street. By 4:30 p.m., it didn’t appear that anything had been found, and investigators were starting to clear the area.

The courthouse is scheduled to close at 4:30 p.m.
