SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – The town of Southwick expressed its devotion to its veterans on Saturday.

Southwick honored the military service of its men and women with its traditional parade through the center of town. Some of those being honored had served their country as far back as World War II.

This parade is very meaningful.

Southwick World Wat II Veteran John Andrews told 22News, “It means the people get out and say thank you for what was done. What I did wasn’t very much, but there’s still some of our people all over the world.”

Southwick’s Veterans Day parade provided the opportunity to help young people understand why America honors its veterans from conflicts past and present.
