HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — National and state officials are welcoming women military members and veterans to a health and education fair in Hartford.
The event is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Free mammograms, heart health screenings and education will be offered. Officials note a physician’s referral is required for mammograms.
Among those expected to attend are Linda Schwartz, assistant secretary for policy and planning at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and former Connecticut veterans affairs commissioner. The current Connecticut veterans affairs commissioner, Sean Connelly, and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman also are scheduled to attend.
Networking and free breakfast and lunch also will be offered.
