SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Revitalize CDC, an organization that helps veterans and families in need, spent Veterans Day helping a Springfield resident.

Curtis Vaughn’s home had been damaged from the tornado in 2011. That had caused his home to become cold and drafty.

Volunteers from Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement and Baystate Restoration spent the day working on his house.

“Every year we do a Veterans Day thing, where we go out and find someone. It might be someone we met throughout the year, past years as in Mr. Vaughn. What we do is I go to all my suppliers and I try to get free material and we go out and do free work for them,” Fran Beaulieu of Phil Beaulieu & Sons Home Improvement said.

With the help of volunteers, Revitalize CDC has completed almost 600 homes for veterans, elderly citizens, and those in need.
