WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – The town of Ware put its patriotism on full display three times a year, and one of them is Veterans Day. A large crowd turned out for the eastern Hampshire County town’s annual Veterans Day parade.
Similar showings of support for America and those who have fought for our freedoms are visible on Memorial Day and on the Fourth of July.
“The town of Ware has lost a lot of good men in the wars, especially the Second World War. We were lucky not to lose men in the Korean War, but we lost some in the Vietnam War said Phil Hamel, chairman of the Ware Veterans Council.
The town holds its Veterans Day parade a little later in the day than most local communities. The march in Ware stepped-off at 1:00 P.M.
