Veterans honored at East Longmeadow ceremony

The Italian American Veterans will lead the ceremonies.

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – East Longmeadow held their annual Veterans Day ceremony Friday.

There was a march from the American Legion Post 293 at 3 Legion Center to the East Longmeadow Town Hall.

The Italian American Veterans led the ceremonies.

East Longmeadow veteran Raymond Miner told 22News what the display meant to him.

“It brings back a lot of memories, and I’m so glad that people remember all the sacrifices that we did for them,” Miner said.

The event began at 10:45 a.m. and the bell at the First Congregational Church rang at exactly 11 a.m., the time that the armistice in World War I went into effect back in 1918.
