CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Students at Chicopee’s St. Stanislaus School presented an inspirational Veterans Day program Thursday for residents of the Holyoke Soliders Home.
Men and women now serving their country were also in the audience.
St. Stanislaus students saluted each of the services with their Veterans Day program. The students also impressed Holyoke Soldiers Home Superintendent retired Marine Corps Colonel Bennett Walsh.
“For the students here to take time out of their day to thank us, it just brings a smile to your face. They would on Veterans Day, it means the world to us. We do what we do because we love our country,” Walsh said.
Every year, the St. Stanislaus students treat Soldiers Home residents to a program combining nostalgia and patriotism.
