AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Many Agawam citizens gathered near town hall Wednesday night to protest the firing of 3 Agawam police officers.
Sergeant Anthony Grasso, Officer Edward Connor, and Officer John Moccio were fired back in October for what the chief called “a use of force incident.”
Wednesday night many people there told 22News they disagreed with Mayor Richard Cohen’s decision to fire the 3 officers. Dozens came out to hold signs to show their support for the officers and to have their opinions heard.

Chantal McGill, told 22News, “I think being here hopefully shows these officers that we are behind them, that there are members of this town that are behind them, that support them and that’s what we are trying to get across here.”
McGill says she hopes this peaceful gathering will ultimately help in allowing the three officers to return to their jobs.
