Man arrested in West Springfield to be extradited to Florida

Police went to arrest the suspect on “high alert”

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield Police arrested a man on Main Street, Monday, who was wanted for a gun charge.

According to West Springfield Police Captain Bob Duffy, police went to a Main Street address to serve an arrest warrant from Florida. The warrant was for someone charged with Larceny of a Firearm.

Capt. Duffy said the suspect was hiding in a house, and police went to arrest him on “high alert.” However, the “high alert” wasn’t necessary, the man was unarmed.

He’s being held in West Springfield for extradition to Florida.
