Cahillane elected sheriff of Hampshire County

Cahillane won 3-way Democratic primary in September

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The assistant superintendent of the Hampshire County Jail will soon be the boss of the entire sheriff’s department. 22News projects that Democrat Patrick Cahillane has won Hampshire County’s sheriff’s race, defeating South Hadley Republican David Isakson.

With 55% of precincts reporting, Cahillane has a large lead with 34,161 votes or 76% to Isakson’s 11,002 votes or 24%.

Cahillane won a three-way primary to secure the Democratic nomination in September, defeating Melissa Perry and Kavern Lewis.

Isakson has worked for years as a police officer in South Hadley, Sunderland, Hatfield, and Hadley, and is also a restaurant owner.
