GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A pickup truck jumped the curb and destroyed the outdoor dining area of the Federal Street McDonald’s in Greenfield, Monday night.

The front end of the truck was demolished and there was extensive damage to the McDonald’s fence and outdoor tables and benches.

Greenfield Police Sgt. Joe Burge told 22News the truck traveled more than 600 feet on the sidewalk before crashing into the fence and outdoor seating area of the McDonald’s Restaurant. He said, “The truck had to have been speeding considering all the damage that was done.”

Police arrested a 19-year-old Bernardston man, and charged him with Driving to Endanger and Disorderly Conduct.

The nose of truck ended up in the drive-through lane. The driver only suffered a few scratches to his hand, according to Lt. Burge.
