SOUTH CAROLINA (WWLP) – 22News has an update in the ongoing investigation of the woman who was found chained in a storage container in rural South Carolina.
The body that was found on the same property that the woman was rescued from was exhumed and brought to the morgue. The body has not yet been identified.
Teams continued to search the 95-acre property for more human remains on Saturday.
Members of a local church brought snacks and burgers for the investigators who are working on the case. Officers say they’re thankful for the community’s support.
Organizer Jack Gillespie said, “The Lord teaches us that we’re supposed to support your community, and you’re supposed to give back and that’s what we’re here for.”
The woman and body were both found on the property of Todd Kohlhepp. Kohlhepp has been charged with kidnapping, with more charges expected.
