16th annual Veterans Breakfast held by West Springfield Veterans Council

Proceeds raised at the breakfast will go to scholarships for descendants of veterans

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Veterans day is less than a week away. 28 veterans are being honored and celebrated at the West Springfield Veterans’ Council’s 16th annual Veterans’ Breakfast.

The West Springfield Veterans’ Council is an organization that is made up of honorably discharged veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Generations of veterans, along with their family members, attended the breakfast. This annual breakfast helps support and thank veterans for all that they do for our country.

All proceeds raised at the breakfast will go to scholarships for children and grandchildren of veterans. This event is one in a series designed to honor and celebrate veterans of all generations. Veterans Day is November 11th and the West Springfield Veterans’ Council will be holding a Veterans Day parade.

Also happening Saturday, the West Springfield Lions Club transformed the town common into the “Veterans Park of Heroes” by planting hundreds of American flags on the common.
