Delaney says that two patrolling officers ran Collazo’s plate number as he was driving his Volkswagen on Andrew Street at around 4:00 A.M. They decided to pull him over after they found out about the warrants he had out of Springfield District Court for carrying a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Delaney said that during the stop, police found a .9mm Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun, along with eight rounds of ammunition, and another fully loaded magazine in his pocket.

In addition to the warrants, Collazo faces new charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a dangerous weapon with an outstanding warrant, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
