SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – People from across western Massachusetts came together in support of the “March of Dimes” Thursday night. The Springfield Country Club was packed for the organization’s Signature Chef’s Auction.

The event raised funds to improve the health of babies, by preventing premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. One woman, who lost her baby almost 5 years ago, told 22News how the “March of Dimes” helped her and her family.

“It’s sad. It’ll always be a sad thing, but it helps us take this and move forward and try to help other families….know that what we’re doing with ‘March of Dimes’ is raising support and going toward countless other families out there,” said Lindsey Bubar of East Longmeadow.
