7 injured after 2 PVTA buses crashed in Chicopee

No citations were issued

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee Police were called to Memorial Drive, early Wednesday evening, after a crash involving two PVTA buses.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News a PVTA bus rear-ended another bus near the Friendly’s restaurant. The collision took place at a bus stop on the right lane, so it didn’t interrupt traffic.

Six passengers and one bus driver were rushed to the hospital. Officer Wilk said all of the injuries were considered minor, and no citations were issued.

The windshield was smashed on the bus that ran into the other. Both buses had to be towed away.
