Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News the 2013 Dodge Pickup struck a curb, swerved crossing marked lines, hit a parked car and then hit the building. He said the driver, Corey Brown, 43 of Baltimore Ave in Chicopee, had been arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to stay in marked lanes.

The truck demolished the corner of the building and was about half-way into the storefront in the 506 Grattan Street. The street was closed between Trilby Avenue and Dickinson Street.

Two people in the truck suffered minor injuries, and are expected to be okay. Officer Wilk said no one inside the house was hurt, and there was no one in that parked car at the time of the accident.

Officer Wilk said the city building inspector had been called in to determine if the house was structurally sound.
