Western Massachusetts gets ready for a warm-up

The 22News Storm Team is forecasting temperatures in the mid to upper 60s.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) –  If you’re already missing the warm temperatures have no fear a warm up is on the way. 22News is working for you with why we’ll be feeling the warmer weather.

After a chilly last couple of days, mid to possibly even upper 60s are in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. That means it will be feeling more like spring than fall the next couple of days.

With temperatures in the 60s that will make western Massachusetts a good 10 to even 15 degrees above average midweek. For the first week of November high temperatures are supposed to be in the mid to upper 50s.

The reason why for this warm up is the jet stream. A narrow band of fast moving air currents high up in the atmosphere that helps control our weather back down here on Earth. With the jet stream being above New England it will push warm air up from the south helping temperatures to sore into the 60s.

This unfortunately will not last long and temperatures will be cooler by Friday. Even though this warm weather will be short lived it will be a nice change for those of us not ready for the really cold temperatures.
