CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – If you need help paying or lowering the cost of your utility bills this winter, now’s the time to take action.
Beginning November 1st, Massachusetts residents can apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Customers can call or visit their local fuel assistance office to apply.
It’s a program that many people depend on to keep their homes warm during the winter months.
Judy Maunsell of Westfield told 22News, “I think it’s a good thing because there’s a lot of people in this particular area that are living mainly on social security so I’m sure fuel assistance would help them a lot.”
Anyone looking for fuel assistance must apply between November 1st and April 30th. Criteria for qualifying all depends on how much you earn per week, and the size of your family.
