Festive Halloween desserts

CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Learn how to make freaky teeth and festive cakes to celebrate Halloween! Nancy Parent, Owner of Tiers of Joy in Ludlow, showed us how.

Here’s Nancy’s Buttercream recipe to use for the festive cakes:

Nancy’s Buttercream (crusting Buttercream)
Enough for an 8″ or 9″ cake

4 sticks softened butter
2 lbs (about 7.5 cups) confectioner’s sugar
Milk (you’ll need a couple of tablespoons, but add gradually to get the consistency you desire).

Beat the softened butter, then begin adding the confectioner’s sugar (mixer on LOW) ONE cup at a time.
After adding a 3 or 4 cups of the sugar add 1 TBS of milk.
Add the remainder of the sugar 1 cup at a time adding milk as needed.
Beat the icing for at least 5 minutes.
