GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One person is in the hospital after a fire early Sunday morning in Greenfield. This is video sent to us by viewer, John Parks from Greenfield.
Greenfield Fire Captain Kyle Phelps told 22news, firefighters were called to 267 Federal Street just after 3:30 this morning for an apartment fire.
The fire started in the rear apartment of a six apartment home. Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly. One person had to be taken to Franklin Baystate Medical center for smoke inhalation. All of the other residents were able to make it out safely.
Two of the apartments were damaged in the fire, The red cross is helping those residents find a place to stay.
The State Fire Marshall is trying to determine what caused the fire.
