Subway in West Springfield robbed at gunpoint

Suspect ran over the Memorial Bridge into Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield and West Springfield Police are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a Subway restaurant, Friday night.

West Springfield Police Captain Robert Duffy told 22News the Subway on Memorial Avenue was robbed at gunpoint around 8:00 p.m. Friday. The suspect was described as a 6-foot tall white man, wearing dark clothes and possibly a white hat.

Captain Duffy said the suspect got away with some cash, and then ran off over the Memorial Bridge into the City of Springfield.

Springfield Police are assisting with the search, and West Springfield Police are looking for any surveillance video.
