Trees and wires were blocking roadways in Deerfield

DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Thousands of people lost power in western Massachusetts after this October snowstorm. In Deerfield, trees and wires were blocking roadways, and it has been very hard for crews to get to.

Outages were reported across Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties. Some of the hardest hit areas include Southampton, Leyden, and Colrain.

All customers in Montgomery were reportedly without power for hours until early Friday morning.

An Eversource spokesperson said crews have been working all night in the communities they serve.
