SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police arrested three people at a traffic stop, and seized a handgun.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News officers were on patrol near Bristol Street and Wilbraham Road when they saw a 2006 Kia that was not properly registered.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the woman driving allegedly didn’t have a license to drive and the car she was driving wasn’t registered. The other two men in the car also didn’t have a license to drive, said Delaney.
The officers arrested Tan’ea Bess, 20, of 129 White Street in Springfield for driving without a license and other offenses, said Delaney.
The officers were in the process of towing the Kia and during their inventory of the cars contents, they discovered a Taurus .380 caliber handgun, said Delaney.
The two men, Daquan Jefferson, 18, of 21 Mountainview Street in Springfield, and Tahj McCormick, 20, of 269 Stony Brook Hill Road in Wilbraham, were arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, said Delaney.

- Driving without a license
- Unregistered motor vehicle
- Number plate violation
- Uninsured motor vehicle
- Carrying a firearm without a license
