JOBtoberfest job fair held at American International College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – American International College held their annual job fair with a fun Octoberfest theme Thursday. JOBtoberfest welcomed national and local businesses to meet and greet students. College and high school students, as well as graduates have been gathering at American International College in Springfield for the JOBtoberfest fair.

The event provides students and employers with an intimate setting to network, discuss career paths, and to explore employment opportunities. The fair, was held until 1:00 P.M. at the Schwartz Campus Center, provides an opportunity for job seekers to meet with potential employers, learn about career opportunities, and hand-in resumes.

22News was one of the businesses there to participate in the event. 22News reporters Kait Walsh and Tamara Sacharczyk are at the job fair to meet with young people interested in careers in broadcasting.

Thaleeza Saenc-Flores, a student told 22News, “I thought it would be a great opportunity to get to know the company’s and see what I’m interested in. Since I’m an English major, I thought there would be a lot to do for my major and there is.”

Other businesses participating this year include Baystate Health, Liberty Mutual and the YMCA.
