Elderly man taken to hospital after crashing into tree in Hadley

He was taken to Baystate Medical Center for evaluation

HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – An 82-year-old man from Connecticut crashed his car into a tree on Roosevelt Street in Hadley Thursday morning.

Hadley Police Sgt. Mitchell Kuc told 22News the elderly man was driving a grey pick up truck when he lost control of the vehicle. When Hadley Police and Fire got there, they found the man conscious but trapped in his vehicle.

Firefighters from three towns worked for about 45 minutes to free him. A section of Roosevelt Street was shut down for nearly two hours.

The man was taken to Baystate Medical Center for evaluation and is expected to be okay.
