Chicopee Police: 2,200 bags of heroin seized, 1 arrested

Officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday around 9:39 a.m.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee Police seized 2,200 bags of heroin following an investigation that lead to the arrest of a man.

Chicopee Police Officer Michael Wilk told 22News officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday around 9:39 a.m. at 10 Elcon Drive following an investigation by narcotics officers.

Officers seized 2,200 bags of heroin, numerous pills, and cash as a result of the search warrant. Darnell Clayton, 28, of 10 Elcon Drive, was arrested, said Wilk.

Clayton was brought to Chicopee District Court, and is being held on $50,000 bail, said Wilk.

Clayton’s charges:

  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance
  • Trafficking in heroin/morphine/opiates (36-100g)
  • Drug violation near a school/park
