Battleground states in focus

Hillary Clinton campaigns in North Carolina, while Donald Trump heads to Ohio, both states that could play a pivotal roll in the upcoming vote.

(NBC News) In the race for the White House, both candidates took hits Thursday: Hillary Clinton was hurt by a leaked email that detailed how her husband made millions, while Donald Trump suffered when a top aide admitted efforts to keep African American voter turnout low.

All this comes as more Americans are casting their ballots.

Day one of early in Maryland saw long lines. It’s a blue state, and Clinton voters are motivated.

“We’re all working together to bring in the first woman of the United States,” said Stella Mwosu.

A new CNBC poll gives Clinton and 9-point lead over Trump nationally.
